WSOP Information

The World Series of Poker (Often called the WSOP) is the biggest poker tournament of the year. There are thousands of players that come from all over the world to play at this multi event tournament in Las Vegas. The WSOP main event is the biggest poker tournament of the event. With a 10k buy-in and the main event growing every year the final table takes home at least 1 million dollars with the winner taking home more then 10 million dollars. In 2005, there were 5,619 players that entered the main event and in 2006 the number grew to 8,773. The 2007 WSOP Main Event drew 6,358 players with a first prize of $8.25 million won by Jerry Yang.

2008 WSOP Satellites and Qualifiers
Bodog Life WSOP Satellites- Bodog is currently giving away 3 seats per week in February, 4 seats per week in March and April and 5 seats per week during May and June. Qualifiers start on February 4th-June. They have satellites for as low as $1.50 and other qualifiers are $7, $18, $27, $5.50 (plus tourney fee) and special qualifiers that use Bodog Points. The actual WSOP Satellites that WSOP Sseats are given away are $250+20. They are played on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays.

Poker Stars WSOP Satellites - Poker Stars is currently running satellites for the WSOP Main event. There are currently three ways to qualify including buy-in with fpp's, cash and their steps sit and go's.

Full Tilt Poker WSOP Satellites - Full Tilt Poker will be offering $10 million dollars to any player that qualifies through full tilt poker and ends up winning the main event. They are running hundreds of satellite tournaments each week until the main event begins in July.

World Series of Poker Coverage
The 2007 WSOP was played this past summer and there are currently re-runs on ESPN and ESPN2 with the main event and other popular wsop events being shown.
