PartyPoker offers a tremendous amount of players to play against, along with great tournaments and is place to generally make steady cash with competent play. With a lot of money spent on advertising and a very marketable brand name, PartyPoker tends to attract newer players; providing a lot of income if you play smart.

The graphics are mediocre, but the user interface and table search features are very well done and easy to use. They offer a never ending supply of freerolls, along with an unheralded number of tournaments throughout the day. William Hill Poker

William Hill is a prominent sports betting and gambling operation in the U.K., with a proven track record of financial responsibility and dedicated over the course of several decades. They offer a fully dedicated English poker site that is part of the Cryptologic poker room network. They allow you to play in a variety of currencies, including the dollar, English pound, and Euro.

Graphics are simple, as with most Cryptologic based rooms, but it provides easy and clear functionality and unmatched gameplay.

They run a lot of EPT and WSOP qualifiers, with many other tournaments and freerolls throughout the week. Tournament and cash game play tops out at about 4,500 people during peak playing hours. As it is a U.K. Based gaming room, almost all of the players are from England.

They offer a monthly bonus of 25pounds as long as you play 5+ hours of real money cash games during the course of the month.

BetFair Poker

Betfair is an extension affiliated with the The Sporting Exchange Limited. Based out of London, England and coming online in 2004, they've steadily grown in both features and players over the course of the past 2 years. They recently moved away from Cryptologic and into their own platform in late 2006.

Among the European crowd, Betfair is home to numerous young poker pros and also features some of the largest and highest stakes games.

They provide multi-table functionality, with up to 6 tables permitted at once. All in all, the graphics are rather simplistic without avatars or 'extra' features but providing solid play and easy navigation.

Victor Chandler Poker

Victor Chandler Poker is a well established poker site with backing by one of the oldest and largest gambling and sports betting companies in the UK. While originally operating in London, they have since moved operations out of the country but still cater to UK residents primarily.

The software is similar to that of Doyle's Room and provides easy to use features and many things you won't find on other poker rooms. There's a help/customer support button on the table window, along with the ability to instantly get hand histories, statistics, and see your folded cards while the hand is played out. The lobby is designed with user navigation in mind, except for having to sort through the different game variations – no-limit is mixed with limit and such.

They recently launched a promotion for a 'Grand Slam' tournament, with a series of four tournaments with a $20,000,000 prize pool. The champion of the tournaments will take home a $10 million first place chunk of change.

They run a lot of cash games with freerolls throughout the day with guaranteed tournaments scattered in occasionally. They don't offer a tremendous amount of traffic, but you'll rarely be waiting for a cash game.

They accept most major forms of deposit and withdrawal including debit cards, wire transfers, and Neteller.

Ladbrokes Poker

Ladbrokes Poker is one of the largest and most active poker rooms for European players. They never allowed U.S. Players, so following the legislation, they never experienced a decline in customers. For all practical purposes, Ladbrokes can be described as the PokerStars of Europe, offering a tournament leader board and heavily featured tournaments. They have over 2 million users between their poker and sports betting operations and deliver outstanding customer service and support.

Despite the lack of American players, traffic is very high and consistent, with $10/$20 limit and no-limit tables always being full. Tournament traffic is also very high, even with one of the busiest tournament schedules of any online poker room. Tournament's are usually 60%-100% full.

Ladbrokes offers the usual poker variations of Hold'em, Omaha, and Stud (5 and 7 card). The Stud games are usually almost as busy and the Hold'em games, providing a lot of fun and a nice break from the action of Texas Hold'em.
