Micheal Mizrachi is a professional poker player born in the year 1981, January 5. He is a native of Hollywood, Florida, but was born in Miami, Florida. Though his initial ambition was to become a doctor, it never materialized as he dropped out from college so that he could play poker, full time.  He is known in the poker world as the ‘Grinder’. He has other hobbies besides chess; like football, movies, chess and golf. He was introduced into the world of online poker by looking at his successful poker brother, Robert.  

Robert Mizrachi is Micheal’s elder brother, who also has many WSOP and WPT finishes to his name. Micheal’s twin brother, Eric Mizrachi is also a poker player, while Michael’s younger brother, Daniel is a professional magician. Michael’s wife’s name is Aidilay who is also a poker player. He has a son, Paul William and a daughter, Julie Malka. Mizrachi loves his family so much, that he had actually bought a tour bus out of the poker winnings so that his family would be with him when on the road. However, this bus started depreciating in value, and was finally sold.  

With the intention of keeping the Mizrachi brothers from wandering from their home base, Mike’s parents taught them card games like poker, which they immediately took to.

Mizrachi grew in a family that relished in closeness, support and strong will as he has a strong base of Jewish traditions. With this rapport, he believed in the strength of the family; and it is his mother who is the epitome of his family, and a great fan of his. She travels to watch Mizrachi in tournaments and loves bragging about his achievements.  

With his nickname, ‘The Grinder’, one may get the impression that he is one who has struggled to grind it out to win so that he can keep his head above water. However, as Mizrachi does not worry about images; he chose the nickname as it signified his determination and competitive spirit on the poker table. With ‘the Grinder’ he implifies that he is a machine that does not stop grinding. 

Mizrachi finished 5th in the World Poker Tour in 2005 and the first prize on the WPT the next month. The year’s WPT ended with Mizrachi reaching the 11th place amongst 452 participants. Mizrachi set a record of having 7 money finishes in the 2005 World Series of Poker. And as of recent calculations, it has been found that his winnings in live tournaments have exceeded $5,300,000. According to Card Player Magazine, Mizrachi is the number one player of the year 2006!
