Mansion Poker Review
Overview
MansionPoker is one of the newest poker rooms available on the internet. Increasingly popular with European players, it is finally just beginning to start its movement into the American market. With an ever evolving TV market, MansionPoker is the sponsor of PokerDome and Speed Poker on television. With these two shows, they are able to attract a vast amount of new players with enormous freerolls that award entries to these TV tables. MansionPoker is part of a large European sports book and casino chain and is one of the larger gambling sites in the world. Check out our Mansion Poker 100k tournament page.
Traffic
Traffic is inherently low, as MansionPoker is a considerably newer room. However, thanks to a variety of daily freerolls, low buy in tournaments, and various other promotions; they are attracting a lot of attention and new players. Even so, it iss extremely hard to find a full table in a ring game even at peak U.S. playing hours. However, traffic in the past month has increased slightly and will hopefully continue to do so. Looking at about 1PM on a Saturday, they had roughly only about 175 people playing
Tournaments
As previously mentioned, their most popular tournaments are the feeders to their assorted television shows. However, they also offer a lot of daily tournaments, with freerolls that have payouts ranging from $50 to $750. Along with this, they also offer a lot of tournaments with small $5-$50 buy ins; many of which only get 75-100 entries, allowing you to easily make the money with competent play.
Software
The software used by Mansion Poker is proprietary and very well constructed. It is sleek and easy to navigate and use. The lobby is laid out nicely and games are easy to sort and find, using the selection options at the top of the screen. However, the software can be laggy at times and unresponsive. A server issue hasn’t been encountered, so it appears to simply be relatively resource intensive software.
Among the games offered at Mansion Poker is the standard fare of poker: Texas NL Hold’em; along with pot-limit and fixed limit Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha HI/LO, 7 Card Stud, and 7 Card Stud HI/LO. Traffic is exceptionally low at anything besides the Hold’em tables, and even they don’t have too many players. The limits range from pennies all the way up to $200/$400 fixed limit Hold’em, NL Hold’em, and Omaha.
The table layout is very frugal, but it accomplishes the task of delivering playable poker with easy to follow action. Upon your turn to act, your cards light up; and you can reference the previous player’s actions as it is displayed below their name.
Chat is displayed prominently and is easy to follow, as is the action throughout the hand. Statistical information is very informative and updated in real-time, as are hand histories. There are no customizable options, even such simple options as a 4 color deck or turning sound on or off.
Competition (Hard, Easy...)
The competition at MansionPoker.net is very easy and soft. It doesn’t take much effort to make a considerable amount of money at Mansion Poker, assuming you can find an active table. Competent and patient play is very rewarding, with numerous people chasing draws and second and bottom pair without thinking. If you can pick your spots well, this is a very profitable sight.
Security
As one of the world’s larger gambling sites, with their affiliated sports book and casino, MansionPoker is definitely one site you don’t need to worry about security at. They definitely provide quality and you can be confident in their promises.
They are licensed and regulated in Gibraltar and also use 128-bit encryption and security for any information collected or stored.
Support
Support at Mansion Poker is offered via e-mail, live chat, mail, fax, and telephone. However, they do not provide a toll-free number, so you will incur long distance and international charges if you choose to call them to resolve your issues. The live chat and the e-mail support both provide quick and accurate responses and help resolve any issues quickly.
Deposits/Withdraw
Deposit options are as follows:
Neteller, Firepay, Moneybookers, Visa/Mastercard, Wire Transfers, ACH transfers, Cashier’s Check, Money Orders, and European debit cards.
For withdrawal, you can select the following:
Neteller, Firepay, Moneybookers, Wire Transfer, mailed check (fee applies if above $150)
MansionPoker requires you to fax or mail a copy of a government ID for your first withdrawal (and it will be stored and used for subsequent withdrawals). While this is nice on one hand, as the additional security is good; it also begs the question of how much information about you a disgruntled employee or hacker could obtain.
Summary
Mansion Poker.net is new, and expanding. While it delivers a decent poker playing experience, and one that is easily profitable, it still has a long way to go before it makes it to the top of the list. If you enjoy playing tournaments, but don’t like to sit through huge fields, then definitely consider MansionPoker. If you want to get on a television show, such as PokerDome, then definitely consider MansionPoker. However, if you prefer cash games, then I suggest you look elsewhere.
