Doyles Poker Room Review

Doyles Room.net Overview:
Doyle’s Room is the online home designed and developed by legendary poker player and WSOP champ Doyle Brunsondoyles poker room.net. Along with him, many celebrities and other poker luminaries play at the site on as well, including esteemed author Mike Caro. The site is probably most well known for its extensive weekly bounty tournaments, with progressive payouts as you knock out 1 or more of the celebrity players. On top of all that, they also offer a free online poker school, and discounts and promotions on Doyle’s and Caro’s books.

Traffic:
Doyle’s Room Poker has been around for less than two years but already boasts a relatively strong player base that is constantly expanding, thanks to the reputation of Doyle Brunson and non-stop marketing. The ring game traffic is consistently in the neighborhood of 3,500+ players now and continuously growing. Part of this reason is that the Tribeca software that is used allows players from other sites to play here as well, but Doyle’s Room itself probably attracts the most players.

Tournaments:
The aforementioned bounty tournaments are one of the largest draws at Doyle’s Room, with several hundred players playing each and every week. They also offer a monthly $100k guaranteed tournament, along with daily $20,000 tournaments with a $20 buy in. On the freeroll side of things, there is a weekly $250 freeroll, along with daily $50 freerolls. Recently added is a $25,000 monthly freeroll, and additionally weekly Sunday guaranteed tournaments with larger payouts ($50k - $100k).

Doyle’s Room has also become a major qualifying stop for a large number of land based casino events, including the WSOP, WPT, EPT, Asia Classic, and Master’s Classic.

Software:
The software used at Doyle’s Room is based on the Tribeca network and playing software. Graphically it is interesting, with a well laid out lobby and easy to use interface. At the tables, the cards are shown clearly and the action is easy to follow.

The lobby gives you basic information such as average pot size, hands per hour, and number of players per table; but does not display the flop percentages. The software also incorporates a buddy list and the ability to set the poker room clock display to your local time.

The software offers the ability to play the standard fare of games: Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud, and 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo. However, it also offers a more obscure choice in Badugi, a very interesting and bizarre game that is quite fun to play. It does have a small learning curve, but no more so than any other poker variation.

Competition:
The competition at Doyle’s Room isn’t overly hard, but it is a standard mixture of fish, sharks, and competent players. It all depends on the time of day, as most Tribeca rooms attract a lot of international players, so playing before 8pm will likely mean you’re facing off against a potential English pro.

Security:
A poker legend has staked his reputation on this site; and Doyle Brunson has largely been regarded as a man of integrity for a long time. I highly doubt there are any concerns necessary here.

The servers and offices are based out of Costa Rica, using a sophisticated random number
generator with 128-bit encryption to help safeguard your information.

Support:
Doyle’s Room offers a large amount of support options. First and foremost, they offer an extremely detailed FAQ section on their website, outlining a lot of common issues and the resolutions. Secondly, they offer 24/7 e-mail support with moderately quick response times and spot on detailed information. Third, they offer live chat and support from with in their software and on their website. Finally, Doyle’s Room also offers a toll free 800 number for anyone to call to get any issues resolved.
