Negreanu Joins Team PokerStars, makes WSOP Final Table
June 14, 2007 on 8:31 pm | In WSOP, Poker News |Daniel Negreanu, the wildly popular poker pro known as “Kid Poker,” has become a well-known face in the poker world, winning multiple WSOP and WPT championships, and creating his own media empire with Full Contact Poker. That little thing about winning the Card Player and WSOP Player of the Year awards didn’t hurt his stock any either.
So it was no surprise to hear that, hot on the heels of news the Full Contact Poker was merging player accounts with PokerStars, that Negreanu was joining Team PokerStars, a stable of high-profile poker pros that includes Barry Greenstein, Greg Raymer, Joe Hachem and Chris Moneymaker. Negreanu quickly showed his new team that he was serious about making a run at this year’s World Series of Poker when he reached the final table of the No Limit Hold ‘Em Shootout event, finishing third at a tough final table that featured best friend Erick Lindgren.
Negreanu wasn’t the only Team PokerStars player making a good run of it this week at the WSOP, though. While he was pulling down third in the Shootout, Greg “Fossilman” Raymer was proving that his expertise spans multiple games while finishing second in the Stud Hi/Lo tournament going on at the same time!
