2007 WSOP Prize Pool

The total prize pool for the 2007 WSOP is $59, 784, 954 and the 2007 WSOP winner will take home $8.25 and $8.75 million. This is $3 million dollars less then Jamie Gold took home last year as the 2006 WSOP main event winner.  This is still a life changing amount but reflects the dip in entrants of more then 2000 players from 2006.

It will be interesting to see what will happen in the 2008 WSOP Main Event. This will determine if this will be a trend of the upcoming years of declining entrants. My guess is that entrants will stay about the same and be around 6000 players unless a reversal of the UIGEA where I would expect the number to jump back to 2006 levels.
