WPT World Championship Underway

The World Poker Tour Championship is now underway at the Bellagio hotel and casino in Las Vegas. The Buy-in for this event was $25,000 dollars and 639 poker players registered to play. The tournament field is now down to 485 players after day 1. The top player is Kirk Morrison with 165,000 chips and right behind him is Tim Phan with 157,000 chips. Notable pro’s that have a great position are: Sammy Farha(147,500),  Mike Matusow(132,000). The average chip count for players still in the tournament is 65,876. We will have updates in the days following as the tournament progresses. Day 2 of the event will start at 12pm PST tomorrow.
