WPT Enterprises 1Q Reports Loss
May 9, 2007 on 10:05 pm | In WPT, Poker News |Â WPT Enterprises have reported a first quarter loss. They attributed the loss because they sold fewer World Poker Tour episodes this year. They posted a $2.3 million dollar loss or 11 cents per share. Revenue for the WPT fell 20% from $4.7 to $3.7 million. Original source from Forbes.
Could the loss of the WPT earnings be party because of the UIGEA? When they lost sponsors like Party Poker and many others poker rooms who have decided to focus on the international market. This would make the show harder to sell the with many of the old advertisers not willing to pay for advertising time. Will the WSOP also feel the sponsorship loss this year?
