World Poker Open 2007 - WPT
March 2, 2007 on 1:15 am | In WPT, Live Poker, Poker News |The World Poker Open is underway in Tunica, Mississippi at the Gold Strike Casino Resort. With only 294 entrants into the main event, there are a lot of note-able names around the tables. First play is a little over $900k, with the top 27 total spots paying out. As it stands right now on day 2, with about 62 players left; we have several recognize-able faces in the top 15.
Victor Ramdin sits in the #1 spot with almost 500,000 chips.
J.C. Tran, Hoyt Corkins, Kido Pham, Barry Greenstein, Gavin Smith, Mark Seif, Robert Mizrachi, and Daniel Negreanu are all within the top 15 and have over 100,000 chips each. It should definitely be an interesting battle toward the final table. But as we all know in poker, things could change in a matter of minutes.
As far as who I think will win it? Going to go with Barry Greenstein - hopefully he can pull it out for a well deserved victory.
