State of Online Poker Update

June 6, 2007 on 5:11 pm | In Poker News |

Bill Rini has a blog post about his current thoughts on the latest happenings of online poker. He talks about the recent news of Neteller’s plan of returning money to US Customers. He also gives his thoughts on the news that online gaming companies PartyGaming and 888 have both said they are talking to authorities and clarifying their legal status.

One thing that struck me in his commentary of online poker was how positive he was about the recent news. Recently, Bill has been somewhat negative about the state of online poker (can’t blame him) so it is nice to hear positive remarks.

Here is some commentary from Bill about what the recent talks between the DOJ and gambling companies can potentially mean:

At a minimum, it clears up a lot of investor uncertainty and if the laws are changed to allow online poker in the US, Party and 888 could either apply directly for a gaming license or be acquired by someone who would have no problem getting one (Harrah’s, MGM, etc).
