Canadian truck driver and poker fanatic James Gibson recently won his first poker tournament title by topping the Heartland Poker Tour held at the magnificent Grand Casino Mille Lacs located in
Canada, making him the first Canadian to win in the prestigious poker tournament.  Gibson beat out the other 148 poker players to go home with the top prize of about $78,000 and some bragging rights coupled with lots of respect too.

It wasn’t an easy sailing for Gibson, especially in the final where he faced previous HPT tour winner Soni Lo, who won the HPT shooting star event in
Minnesota more than 15 months ago. This time Soni Lo lost the tournament finishing second place to Gibson.

The top five finishers and their earnings are as follows:1.      James Gibson from Manitoba,
Canada - $77,7202.      Soni Lo from
Bloomington,MN - $38,8603.      John Mckusick of
Minneapolis - $24,9814.      Jeremy Dresch of
Fridley, MN - $19,4305.      Keith Doering of
Brownton,MN - $16,654

As early as today poker participants are already gearing up for the next HPT tour event which is scheduled to happen in Walker, Minnesota to be held specifically at the Northern Lights Casino and Hotel on September 9 until 16.
