California Internet poker initiative
August 1, 2007 on 11:44 pm | In Poker News |California online poker players are not standing still and are looking to add an initiative to the February ballot to have a state owned online poker room. They need to get 430,000 signatures by the end of the 2007 year to be able to qualify and be added to the ballot. It has initial support from independent experts and has the indian tribes attention. It was helped introduced by non other then Tuff Fish poker player: Anthony Sandstrom who is an internet phenomena with his online poker videos.
The Initiative states that:
“the state may enter into revenue and player base sharing agreements with other states, localities and California federally recognized Indian tribes.”
