American Player Robbed at Aussie Millions

January 23, 2008 on 10:52 pm | In Poker News | No Comments

Jason Potter (21) cashed in at the Aussie Millions getting 31st place and winning $30,000 dollars. Potter is a professional poker player who dropped out of school to focus on his poker career and has over $300k in career winnings. After cashing out at the cashier in the melbourne casino he decided to go to McDonalds.

It ended up being a very expensive meal when he was robbed by a man with a knife who directed him to give him his money. (It is believed that the assailant had watched him cash out and knew he was holding lots of cash).  Police are now looking for the attacker and have contacted banks to watch for someone trying to deposit large amounts of money.

Shane Warne, an australian cricket player who has retired from the sport is currently trying a new game, poker. He is currently playing in the 2008 Aussie Million main event and is sponsored by 888.com. I don’t know much about him playing cricket but it seems like he doesn’t get the rules of poker because on his first day of tournament play he received a penalty. He got penalized for 5 minutes because he sent a text message during play which is prohibited at the table. Not the best start to his new career…
