Paradise Poker is being closed! Merged with Boss Poker Network
February 9, 2007 on 5:44 pm | In Online Poker Play, Poker News |It looks like there will be no more Paradise Poker one of the longest running online poker rooms. Since the legislation passed last year, paradise poker stopped offering US poker players the chance to play at the poker room. The company then sold off the Sportsbook brand for $1 to cut costs. That company has since launched Sportsbook Poker which offers poker to US players. While Paradise Poker remained out of the US market for good. Seems like for the original company that owned PP found out that this was not a viable alternative as the market just isn’t strong enough outside the US. This is said to save the company 55 million pounds as it was having to fight Party Poker and Titan Poker and other poker providers for the worldwide market outside the US. This will improve the Boss Media network but it may not be a happy time for the paradise poker players. Hopefully they will be able to retain their frequent player points but at this point I wouldn’t hold your breath.
