ECHO Settles with DOJ
March 29, 2007 on 5:40 pm | In Online Poker Play, Poker News |The Electronic Clearinghouse, Inc (ECHO) has recently settled with the DOJ over credit card processing after the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) went in effect last October. They agreed to pay $2.3 million dollars to spare them the costs of litigations. The money that was given to the DOJ was the profits the company made off transactions from Neteller. The register who originally ran the article also states that players looking for a way to fund their gambling account now can always go to Walmart and pick up a Moneygram credit card which is still being accepted at many of the major online poker rooms. Though there is a $10 fee that Walmart takes….
