Card Player Interview with Alfonse D’Amato and Howard Lederer

Card Player interviewed Alfonse D’Amato about the new legislation that was introduced by Barney Frank. He supports the legislation 100% and is very excited about the prospects of legalization and regulation. He points out how the UIGEA is trying to go the prohibition route which never works and ends up causing a black market that is not regulated. D’Amato said that he plans to get this passed when asked what the chances are to pass the bill…(avoiding the question)…but making his intentions certain that he will do what he can to get the legislation through congress. Howard Lederer was also in agreement with the new legislation and reiterated that people need to join the PPA (Poker Players Alliance) to show support for the legalization of poker.
