Swedish Poker Boom

You’d expect the largest poker event, competitor wise, in Europe to be one of the EPT tournaments. I mean, the largest poker events in the United States are related to the WPT and WSOP, both nationally (and somewhat internationally) expansive tournaments.

However, an EPT event does not generate the largest field of European poker players for a buy-in tournament. The average EPT event houses 250-400 players, but there is a much larger event that takes place once a year (and its coming soon!).
In the village of Grebbestad, Sweden, which is located several hours by car or train from any major city; there’s a large poker field at an event every year. Last year was the largest ever, with over 600 entrants and they expect at least one hundred more this year.

It is a major 3 day tournament, with buy-ins as low as 250 euros. Generating a lot of action and excitement, it is sure to put Sweden on the map as a poker hotbed and give a lot of European players a chance to interact with larger fields.
