Poker Games Other Then Texas Hold-em

There are many players online today that just play texas hold-em poker. But there are many other poker games that are played online including omaha, 7 card stud, razz and many others. Most players stick with texas hold-em as that is the game they have learned or watched on tv. I believe that in a couple years there will be less of a push on texas hold-em and there will be many other big poker tournaments in the other poker games. One of the biggest changes this year in the world series of poker was the HORSE event. This was a 50k buy-in event that let the dealer choose the game played. This was a great event and many pro’s did very well in, as they were much more rounded in various poker games than the average texas hold-em world series of poker player. Although the final table was changed to just texas hold-em (They choose this as it would make for better tv as most viewers would have been confused at the whole concept and/or didn’t know how to play the other poker games players would choose). Which was a controversial move but hopefully next year they will keep the final table the same as the rest of the tournament to see who truly is the best player at poker. I believe we will see more of these types of tournaments at circuit events and with rise in popularity of events like this online poker rooms will see to it that they will build this type of games into their poker software.
