Jury rules that poker is a game of chance

In England a card club owner has been convicted of contravening the Gaming Act. This will end any doubt in other unlicensed poker club owner’s mind that they will be able to challenge the aspect of poker being a skill game. Derek Kelly who owned the Gutshot will need to close down the club and also pay £23,000. You can legally have a poker game in the UK if you have a casino license but this is very rare for a poker room to have as the cost of a license is very expensive. Who knows maybe this will lead the club owners to seek a lesser license for poker only games. Reported by the Guardian.
