Hook ‘em while they’re young.
February 24, 2007 on 6:08 am | In Live Poker, WSOP, Poker News |According to a newsblurb over at Cardplayer.com, Hershey’s has been named a sponsor and ‘the official chocolate’ of this year’s WSOP.
They are running contests starting in April (and ending prior to the tournament) that will offer $10k WSOP seats, merchandise, and other gifts/items with the purchase of a candy bar with their “Sweet Seats” promotion.
Interesting enough idea, but what happens when a four year old wins a Main Event seat? Or God forbid, rips the wrapper to shreds without looking? It seems to me like a case of bad marketing, with a poorly targeted demographic. Then again, they make billions and I don’t, so maybe I’m wrong.
