Bunny Mansion Mishap: Shannon Elizabeth, Annie Duke and Steve Dannenmann

May 8, 2007 on 6:49 am | In Live Poker, Poker News |

Terrence Chan, a professional poker player played in a charity poker tournament over the weekend at the Playboy Mansion. He played against many poker professionals who all took part in the charity poker tournament where the first two places won WSOP seats. Everything was going as planned in the poker tournament till the Tournament Director decided that the tournament needed to end faster because they didn’t have enough time to finish the game without going over the alloted time at the playboy mansion. So he decided to raise the blinds after a certain amount of hands instead of stick with a timed blind structure.

At this point there were three players left including Shannon Elizabeth with a comfortable lead in first. Second place was Steve Dannenmann and third was Terrance Chan. Shannon Elizabeth decided after the decision to switch the blind structure to fold every hand and she instructed a drunk Steve Dannenmann to do the same. This way they would both get the top prizes while Terrance Chan would not have a chance to win the seat. Right behind Steve Dannenmann at the poker table was Annie Duke who began instructing him what to do while he played. (She told him to fold and not play hands to make sure he would finish in second). This is frowned upon for another player to coach a poker player at the poker table while the hands were in play. This turned into news when Terrance Chan finished in 3rd and complained on his blog about the tournament. Annie Duke apologized realizing she should not have helped Steve Dannenmann and told Terrance Chan she would pay him restitution. This was not the case with the Tournament Directors who refused to apologize and this is a hot topic that many blogs are now covering.
